On a hot summer day at college orientation, singer Sam Nix and bassist Alex Hellman crossed paths. Both connected on their love of heavy music. A year and a half later, and after the additions of guitarist Luca Passalacqua and drummer Nick Russo, Putz was born.

With a number of influences including thrash, death, and nu metal, progressive rock, jazz, and hip hop, Putz has created a sound that is just as groovy as it is uncompromisingly heavy. With introspective lyrics, off-kilter riffs, and an intense live performance, Putz aims to create an experience that lives in the head of listeners long after the show has concluded.
